Number Width Feature Selector Constants

Many fonts support both proportional-width and fixed-width numerals, as shown in Figure D-10. In proportional-width numerals the "1" is narrower than the "0", whereas in fixed-width numerals they (and all the other numerals) have identical widths. Fixed-width numerals are also called columnating because they align well in text that consists of columns of numerical data. For fonts that support the number spacing feature type, you can select either fixed-width or proportional-width numerals. Table D-18 lists the selectors for this feature.
